Several City departments service over 300 Lavender Hill residents in one day

This past Wednesday, 2 October 2024, the City of Cape Town’s Corporate Services Directorate assisted 302 Lavender Hill community members with bursaries and apprenticeship enquiries, jobseeker database registrations, as well as primary health care and Law Enforcement services. The Mobile Office team was also on site to assist residents with a wide range of non-emergency services and all other account enquiries. 

The Lavender Hill Community Centre was bustling with residents interacting with 55 City officials from departments such as Human Resources, Social Development, Energy, Health, Safety and Security, EPWP, as well as the Customer Relations Mobile Unit.

'The turnout was quite incredible and I am pleased to have seen residents, especially the elderly, who were in the majority. What is great about these basket of services mobile visits is that it spares community members the long commute and commuter fares to get to municipal offices. The City is committed to bringing services to residents and making local government more accessible to all. We thank all of those who came and I am encouraging more community members to take advantage of these visits in future,' said the City's Mayoral Committee Member for Corporate Services, Alderman Theresa Uys.
